QLD Microchip Implanter Information

Compulsory microchipping of young cats and dogs or when transferring ownership of cats and dogs from 1st of July, 2009.

You must be an Authorised implanter in QLD to implant microchips in QLD.

You must register owner details after implanting with a licensed registry in QLD.

We offer pre-paid registration to The Australasian Animal Registry who are licensed in QLD.

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Recreation will oversee new Microchipping laws.

Local governments Brisbane City Council, Gold Coast City Council, Ipswich City Council, Lockyer-Valley Regional Council, Logan City Council, Moreton Bay Regional Council, Redland City Council, Scenic Rim Regional Council, Somerset Regional Council, Sunshine Coast Regional Council, Toowoomba Regional Council, Gladstone Regional Council and Central Highlands Regional Council are introducing all sections of the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 on July 1, 2009.

All other local governments have until December 10, 2010.
