The Australasian Animal Registry (AAR)

The Australasian Animal Registry (AAR) was established in 1989 and is the largest not-for-profit and most comprehensive animal registration and recovery service in Australasia.

AAR is a division of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS).

The RAS is responsible for organising and staging the Sydney Royal Easter Show, managing Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park and organising the Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy and Fine Food Shows.

AAR operates Australia wide and is an authorised registry for VIC & QLD. As at 30 June 2008, AAR maintains records for over 1 million animals from across Australia and New Zealand. This includes dogs, cats, birds, horses, zoo animals and even ferrets.

Regarded by many as the most reliable animal microchip database across Australasia, AAR provides an accurate and independent service designed to assist in the speedy recovery of registered animals.

The Benefits with AAR

i) Trusted Brand Name
Your clients will be familiar with the activities of the RAS, a reputable company that they will know and trust.

ii) Access
AAR operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist in the recovery of lost pets. Your clients will feel at ease knowing that their contact details are always at hand if their pet is lost.

iii) Experience
AAR is the longest running registry in Australia. They have developed a secure and efficient registration process to ensure your clients details are accurate, safe and easily accessed when needed.

iv) Simplified Registration
Through their years of experience they have worked hard to simplify the registration process for both the implanter and pet owner. The registration process is efficient and ensures your customer is notified of their registration as soon as possible.

v) Operates Australia Wide
The AAR operates Australia wide so your customer will feel secure their details can be accessed anywhere in Australia.

vi) Registration of Animals other than Cats & Dogs
The AAR is able to accept registrations for other animals, giving you, the implanter, a greater reach to offer your microchipping service for other animals such as birds, horses and zoo animals.

The Registration Process Explained

Completing registration is simple and very straight forward.

STEP ONE: You will receive 1 Pre-paid Registration Form for every microchip you purchase. Complete the form with your implanter details and the details of the pet owner.

STEP TWO: Make a photocopy of the form for both you and the pet owner.

That's it. AAR will process the form and post a confirmation certificate directly to the pet owner within 5 working days.

No need to pay any additional fees or start an account with AAR, simply complete the form each time you microchip and your registration will be taken care of.
